Simple Basketweave Stitch
This is a simple basketweave pattern that creates squares rather than the weaving look of the traditional basketweave. It is very simple to knit and lays flat. Perfect for scarves, blankets, shawls or anything that needs to lay flat.
A knit stitch is typically wider than it is tall, so we achieve the squares by having each one 4 sts across and 5 rows deep.
This is a perfect 'mindless knitting' stitch as you hardly have to think while you knit away.
Knit on a multiple of 8 sts.
- k4, p4 to end of row, repeat for 5 rows
